 | Developing Rich Internet Applications with jQueryToday users are demanding richer, more interactive web applications and web developers are struggling to keep up. To achieve this functionality, developers must write hundreds if not thousands of lines of messy, complicated javascript. Much of this code is just to account for browser differences. There has to be a better way. Luckily, there is. Javascript libraries such as Prototype, Dojo, and jQuery allow web developers to program against a common API reducing the lines of code they write and the complexity of that code. In this session we will dive into jQuery. You will learn how to use jQuery to select and manipulate the DOM, wire events, use method chaining, and make Ajax calls. jQuery is so easy to learn you will be able to write your own rich, interactive application after just one hour.
