| Big Data with Apache HadoopSome of today?s internet software serves millions of users and uses petabytes of data. NoSQL databases and MapReduce algorithms help us make use of large numbers of servers in different locations to manage this data and serve these users. Apache Hadoop provides ?open source software for reliable, scalable, distributed computing?. HBase is the Key Value store provided by Hadoop. Some companies using it are Amazon, EBay, Facebook, Hulu, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Yahoo. This presentation will give an overview of the NoSQL approach, the Hadoop suite and the HBase product, demonstrate some sample code for accessing HBase using Java, and entertain questions and discussion.
