Sam Dutro, Manager of Organizational Development and Performance, Avis Budget Group
Sam is manager of Organizational Development and Performance at Avis Budget Group. His team designs the training and organizational development programs that support the entire contact center organization. Prior to his current position, he worked as staff manager of training and development at Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group where he was responsible for the development of front-line and operations manager training for all corporate rental locations. He previously worked as a Quality and Training Specialist for American Electric Power where he designed and delivered a variety of technical and development training in the Customer Solutions Center. He is the 2013 president of the Northeast Oklahoma American Society for Training and Development and has served on their board for the past five years.
He has a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Oklahoma Wesleyan University and will complete a Masters in Organizational Dynamics at the University of Oklahoma in the fall of 2012. He and his wife, Linda, live in Tulsa and have three children.
Knowledge Management at Avis Budget Group
Sam and I are going to introduce a particular department of ABG and explain the knowledge management and knowledge sharing issues that the department has been struggling with. Then, we are going to describe the process we used this summer to intervene and assist in capturing departmental knowledge and developing strategies for knowledge management and transfer in the future.
