Danny Cox, VP | Information Security Risk Management, Bank of Oklahoma Financial

Danny has 30 years of experience across the telecommunications, information technology, security, and critical infrastructure protection (CIP) fields supporting both the Department of Defense (DoD) and the private sector industries. He specialized in the field of cyber security and maintains subject matter expertise in several areas including information assurance, risk management, vulnerability and threat assessments, regulatory compliance assessments, cyber readiness assessments, and physical security. Danny earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of Arkansas and a Master of Science Degree in Computer Systems Management from Creighton University. He also holds multiple industry certifications including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Chief Information Security Officer (C|CISO), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), and Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC). Danny is an active member in the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA), Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), the Federal Bureau of Investigation?s InfraGard, and ASIS International. Danny served on active duty and in the Air Force Reserve as an Air Force Cyberspace Operations Officer, retiring in 2010 after 23 years of service.

By not knowing the true information security risks present in an organization, management and decision-makers could be focusing their resources in the wrong areas. This session will provide a basic overview of risk management and risk assessment methodologies. The material presented will provide awareness of risk management practices that will help reduce an organization?s information security risks and also identify some free risk management resources that will enable attendees to learn more on the subject.
